Abbey & Imbrie was a retailer/wholesaler who, over the years, sold reels produced by several different makers. A&I did not make any of their own reels and many of the reels that they sold are only marked with their brand and not that of the actual maker. Julius vom Hofe made many of the reels sold by A&I.
