Hal Chittum was a Florida Keys fly fishing guide who opened a large fishing tackle store in Islamorada in the 1980s. Sometime in the 1990s, Chittum had reel maker Herman Voss build the "H. T. Chittum" reels which Chittem sold in his stores.
