William Mills & Son was a retail and catalog operation that sold reels produced by several different makers over the years. William Mills & Son did not make any of their own reels, however, many reels are marked only with the "William Mills & Son" brand and not that of the maker. Some reels are found with both the maker's name and the "William Mills & Son" brand stamped into the reel.
